When writing Thermonuclear War for a project at uni, I wanted to manipulate the cursor in a console window so i could control where I was going to write text so it meant formatting a display was easier. I asked the tutor if it were possible within the standard library... apparently not so. But he suggested using ANSI character sequences. I looked into this, and well in short, it didn't work. I wasn't going to hack my way round displaying a user interface with endless couts and blank spaces, so i wrote this.

Basically ConsoleControl buffers the console window, and instead of writing to the standard output you write to this buffer. Smile Take a look if you want to manipulate the cursor in a console window. This may solve your problem.
